Meet sabrina. Founder & food safety consultant_

I founded Savanne because I genuinely believe businesses deserve to protect consumers without constant stress, and the industry deserves higher standards across the board.

Purpose

Why I Do What I Do

Food safety has been my professional focus for over 30 years, but my connection to it runs deeper than that. Growing up in a Mauritian family, food was always about care, pride and responsibility. The same values that shaped family meals now shape how I approach every client engagement, with genuine care for their success and pride in raising industry standards.

Throughout my career, I've worked across multiple sectors of the food industry: manufacturing, storage, distribution and testing laboratories. This diverse experience means I understand the unique challenges each business type faces. I've been the overwhelmed manager facing an impossible to-do list. I've seen what happens when crisis strikes and support isn't available. I've witnessed the difference between consultants who create dependency and those who build capability.

These experiences shaped my approach. I don't just want to help businesses pass audits. I want to help them genuinely own their standards with confidence.

Approach

What Makes Savanne Different

Integrity, Always

I only work where I have genuine expertise across multiple sectors and never beyond the agreed scope. If something falls outside my proven experience, I’ll tell you honestly or can bring in suitable subject matter experts to support a project.

Building Independence

My goal is to help you stand on your own two feet. I give you the tools, knowledge and confidence to manage food safety on your own terms, because success means you don't need me anymore. Though I'm always here when you do.

There When It Matters

Whether it's a planned project or an urgent crisis, I respond with the same calm professionalism. I understand that food safety issues don't wait for convenient timing, and neither do I.

Heritage

Rooted in Mauritian Values

My Mauritian heritage influences how I work more than people might expect. In Mauritius, we have a concept of "travay bien": doing work properly, with care and pride. It's not just about meeting requirements, it's about genuine excellence.

This philosophy shapes everything about Savanne. From transparent pricing to patient training, from crisis response to long-term partnerships, I approach every engagement with care, clarity and respect.

The island’s natural diversity, from volcanic peaks and coral reefs to the famous Seven Coloured Earths and thriving sugar cane fields, reminds me that strength comes from adaptability and depth. Just as Mauritius thrives through its diversity, successful food safety programmes require understanding multiple perspectives and adapting to unique business contexts.

“We reached out to Sabrina to arrange an audit of the site as a readiness exercise for a busy period. The site had a successful outcome in the audits and a big contributing factor was the support Sabrina gave.”
